Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL

This outcome could have created things up for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two competitors

Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City last week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - yes Miami had 10 days to prepare but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the league's top offences

Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard average

Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into a touchdown just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Josh Allen trying to do too much to dig his team from the situation - rather than the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this year

The Dolphins have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East

Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Unexpected First Place

Regarding the Patriots, they're among three 8-2 teams in the league, all AFC teams, but are they the top team?

One could find flaws in New England, Denver and Indianapolis really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their combined twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a winning record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos

The Broncos defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Buffalo appears to be a statement

Their pair of losses came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight wins, just like the Broncos, from that point - but taking down Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was significant

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his team to victory

The defense is solid and rookie rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown

While you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to end with the best record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to play twice, the Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Clash

Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three eight and two teams are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who both scored forty points to go to 7-2 ahead of the upcoming major meeting between the two in LA

They've both won four in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a contest

Each could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown

The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly two of the best sides in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
