Star Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Views After Voicing Disputed Coronavirus Documentary
The acclaimed actor has lent his voice to a feature-length documentary that challenges the efficacy of vaccines and praises one-time government figure RFK Jr.
The Film's Disputed Foundation
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the global outbreak for allegations that Covid was linked to a bad strain of the influenza shot.
Her co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with controversial figure a known commentator. He recently posted praising Neeson's participation in the film.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of Liam Neeson have issued a response strongly denying suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vax sentiments.
"We all understand that corruption might be present within the drug industry, but that should never be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement explains. "Neeson has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the UN children's agency highlights his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
The statement added that the performer did not shape the film's narrative and that questions about its assertions should be directed to the producers.
Key Claims Within the Documentary
According to the documentary, the narration spoken by Neeson features several strong claims:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have demanded "blind obedience" to public institutions.
- It argues that "medical science has become deeply politicized."
- RFK Jr is featured saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
- The narration further attacks Covid lockdowns, saying they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- On the topic of Covid vaccines, it references a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Historical Context and Ongoing Disputes
The film further cites a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the focus of a formal apology by the network for violations of guidelines.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr called on the Centers for Disease Control to alter its official position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This claim is echoed in the documentary, even with a fresh analysis from the WHO reiterating no connection has been found.
A Previous Statement of Advocacy
Differing from the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he called vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," stating that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."
The film ends with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This marks not the finish of our story. Rather, it is the beginning of a different phase."
